Abstract:
It's no secret - tax administration is increasingly complex. An explosion in online interactions, security risks, and accelerating globalization is changing the way businesses operate. Whether you swim in a small pond or cross the open seas, your business must navigate uncharted waters to financial success. This presentation discusses the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) five-year strategic plan. It will give you an inside look at some of the Tier 1 issues we see as presenting significant compliance risks for most businesses:

- Research and experimentation investment;

- Domestic production activities deductions; and

- Repairs vs. capitalization.

This presentation will also provide a special in-depth discussion of transfer pricing, including the need for a pricing policy and due diligence to track the transfer of intangibles, cost-sharing arrangements, mixed service costs, and post-Internal Revenue Code Section 936 structures and transactions.
